Francis Frith’s West Sussex photographs to go on show at libraries

LIBRARIES in West Sussex will be showcasing photographs taken by renowned photographer Francis Frith over the next three months.

Ten branches across the county will display nearly 200 photographs, dating back from the 1890s to 1930s, to tie-in with a new BBC series on the Victorian pioneer starting this week.

Mr Frith is best known for taking more than 365,000 pictures of almost every town and village in the UK – many of which were later turned into picture postcards.
