Let the Festival of Chichester begin!

SEE THIS WEEK’S CHICHESTER OBSERVER FOR EIGHT-PAGE FESTIVAL SPECIAL

Welcome to the second Festival of Chichester, a month-long celebration of the arts in and around Chichester.

Last year’s first-ever Festival was a huge success, and we are delighted with the programme that has come together this year. In this week’s paper and over the next four weeks, you’ll be kept abreast of all the Festival news and interviews.

The Festival has come about thanks to a small but superb, dedicated group of people who have met monthly to make it happen.

But we know it could not have happened without terrific support from within the community.

I am proud of the way the Chichester Observer has been solidly behind the Festival from the very moment the plan was hatched; and I am delighted too that we have received generous support from Chichester City Council.

City Mayor Councillor John Hughes presented the Festival with a community grant of £1,500 which we have been putting to great use to spread our word even further. We are hugely indebted to the City Council who have also been a great source of friendly advice.

We are also enormously grateful to our Festival sponsors Wiley and Henry Adams Estate Agents and Chartered Surveyors .
