Remember to visit newexhibition on memory

A group of artists is urging folk not to forget their thought provoking exhibition on memory.

The Hastings Arts Forum based at 36 Marina, St Leonards is staging Recreating Memory reflecting the conflict between hope and loss in life. There are 15 artists exhibiting their work. The centrepiece is a digital painting called ‘Arrival’ by Hong Dam from Hove which depicts a young child fleeing her homeland through wrought iron gates and embarking on a long journey towards the light at the end of the tunnel. Hong Dam paints the contrasts between the industrialisation of the West and the lush, purity of nature in Vietnam. However, Hong knows that since she left as a refugee, Vietnam has also been developed.

The exhibition runs until Tuesday (12th) and is open daily 11am-5pm.
