Rye paintings onnational website

PEOPLE wll be able to see paiintings from Rye Art gallery on a new BBC website that is being launched to showcase the nation’s oil paintings.

The BBC are involved in a joint initiative with the Public Catalogue Foundation of 200,000 oil paintings held in public collections.

Ten years in the making, the site includes some paintings from the Rye Art Gallery gallery’s own collections and some of these fine works will be on show in a special exhibition at the gallery until the end of March.

Artists include Ivon Hitchens, Fred Cuming, Duncan Grant and Vanessa Bell.

The Your Paintings website launches on February 8.
