Sussex CCC at Arundel Castle ground

Sussex are aiming to continue their good form at the top of the LV=County Championship this week as they take on Surrey at Arundel Castle, as part of the Arundel Festival of Cricket, which is sponsored by Brewin Dolphin.

Visitors will be hoping for sunny weather at Arundel.

The match begins today (Wednesday June 12) at 11am at the picturesque ground and Sussex will be looking to extend their lead at the summit of the Division One table as they are currently five points clear at the top.

They protected their unbeaten start to the season in dramatic fashion at Lord’s, batting out the final day against Middlesex to deny the hosts victory. Luke Wright’s first-class best of 187 ensured that Sussex even set their opponents a Fourth Day target of 178 but the draw was confirmed at 50 for 3.

Steve Magoffin and Chris Jordan are currently going head-to-head at the top of the leading wicket-takers’ list in Division One with 36 and 34 wickets respectively.
