Imagination and style combined in Macbeth

Mostly fair weather and enthusiastic audiences contributed to the success of Bexhill Amateur Theatrical Society’s production of Macbeth in Bexhill Manor gardens last week.

Director Kerry Grant’s imaginative interpretation was great fun and stylishly costumed with a ‘steam punk’ theme, set in an alternative Victorian Gothic period. Macbeth (Dean Middhat) and Lady Macbeth (Eleanor Stourton) gave outstandingly chilling performances, and Macduff (Lewis Ikin) and Malcolm (Anthony Lusted) impressed with energetic and emotional interpretations. All of the cast were excellent in their support, and backstage, light and sound combined in a truly professional production. The BATS next production will be A Christmas Carol at the DLWP in January. Well worth looking forward to I suspect. DW
