Spokesman Mark Coxon said: “We are really excited about this one. We are hoping it is going to be our first monthly club. We first started talking to the venue about doing this show back in August last year. We have been putting on gigs in the area for about eighteen months now and are beginning to develop a reputation for putting on quality shows.

“I have been working as a professional comedian on the circuit for the last 20 years and I am totally committed to bringing the very best club comics down here for our shows. We did one in The Labour Club in Crawley at the beginning of the month and when the compere went on at the top of the show he said ‘This bill tonight is probably the best in the country.’ That felt great!

“I've pulled in a few favours to put this line-up together for The Grasshopper. At Comedy Beats we always try and get a TV credit on the bill, but for this one we've got two.

“The show will be compered by John Ryan. He was one of the first MCs we used when we started the company. Years ago, the two of us had to split a compering gig over several hours for a Unison rally in Trafalgar Square. There must have been 10,000 people there that day. If John can handle that, I am sure The Grasshopper will be a breeze. He has done it all. Apart from being one of the best comperes on the circuit, he has done loads of overseas gigs, entertaining the troops, working on cruise ships, as well as storming it in almost all of the top comedy clubs in the country. He is really interactive and chatty host but also great at tailoring the right material to each audience he engages with.

“First up is the brilliant Dominic Holland. When I started, I really looked up to him and still do. He is a great observational comedian and a lovely man. I believe he is one of the best comics currently working on the circuit. He does fantastic routines about bringing up his family and the world we live in. He has done the Royal Variety Performance, so if he's good enough for royalty I figure he's good enough for Crawley. His son was in Billy Elliot in the West End and Dom helped him through his formative years in show business. Now he is pretty well known as the new Spiderman, Tom Holland. Yes, it's true the opening act for this gig is Spiderman’s dad. If you don't believe me come and see the show, I am sure he will talk about it.

“In the middle section we have the instantly likable Stefano Paolini. He comes from Brixton in south London. His parents are Italian and he talks quite a lot about being brought up in an Italian family. He is great at doing different voices which I guess is how he got the Dead Ringers gig on Radio 4. He also has the ability to be a human beat box. We used him in East Grinstead Rugby Club for our fifth show and he smashed it.

“Closing the show is Simon Evans. As I said we always try and get a comic with a TV credit on the bill, but Simon's comedy CV is awesome. He has done Mock The Week, Live at the Apollo as well as Michael McIntyre’s Roadshow. Nowadays he tours theatres in his own right, so to have him down for this show is just great. I first worked with him back in the late 90s. He has progressed so far. I mean what other comedian can say he has got all those TV credits under his belt before he has played Tilgate!”

This months show starts at 8pm and doors open at 7pm. It's at The Grasshopper, Ashdown Drive, Tilgate, Crawley. You can buy tickets in advance from the venue or online by visiting www.ComeyBeats.com.
