Residents in Chichester have the chance to win a bespoke Christmas wreath.

Housebuilder Miller Homes Southern has teamed up with Bunch Florist in Chichester to create a wreath with a regional twist.

The nautical-themed wreath is a celebration of the south English coast with locally designed wooden starfish and lighthouses, seagulls and light blue baubles.

As part of the UK-wide Christmas wreath campaign eight others have been created to represent other regions across England and Scotland to celebrate Miller Home’s local communities.

The Sussex coastal-inspired wreath is now on proud display at Miller Homes’ Minerva Heights showhome before it becomes available to win, along with the other regional wreaths via a #WinTheWreaths social media competition held by the home builder on its Facebook and Instagram pages. To enter, people simply need to add their vote to the regional design they want to win.

For those not lucky enough to get their hands on the Sussex wreath, florist, Georgie Lake has shared her top tips for residents to reproduce their own at home:

“We started by making a list of everything that makes Sussex unique, and that of course had to include the sea and the beautiful beaches on our doorstep,” she said.

“To make your own wreath, start with a large frame with plenty of room to insert little knick-knacks and quirky decorations. You can source items from independent craft stores, forage foliage on your next walk or look online to find bespoke or original pieces.

“Make sure the wreath is bulked out with foliage first, such as leaves and flowers you might want to use, before adding your decorative elements, so they really stand out. You can either secure it all down with a hot glue gun, or tie everything together with string or flexible wire.”

Katrina Crawford, sales and marketing director for Miller Homes Southern commented: “With a number of developments in the region, we have great affinity with the people and place. There are plenty of things about Sussex to make everyone in the area proud, and we think Georgina has done a wonderful job of capturing the main local ingredients to create an alternative festive style.”

More details of how to win the Sussex wreath will be released on Miller Homes’ Facebook and Instagram pages.

It can be viewed at the Minerva Heights sales centre on Old Broyle Road, Chichester, West Sussex, PO19 3PH.
