Gifts have been given out by stores across the country to care homes, schools and refuges, to make Christmas a little brighter.

Residents at Elmcroft, in St Giles Close, were delighted to be chosen to receive a host of festive gifts from the Shoreham store.

A Christmas tree was displayed in the entrance and covered in tags giving gift ideas put forward by the care home residents.

Customers were asked to pick a tag, purchase the item and take it to the store to be sanitised and wrapped.

As well as the presents, Dunelm donated a £50 gift card for the residents to use.

Monica Donald, manager at the Shaw healthcare care home, said: “After what has been a very difficult year, we all know Christmas will be a little different this year.

“Nonetheless, we are determined to make sure the residents enjoy the festive period and these extra gifts will go a long way to do that.

“We would like to say a huge thank you to Dunelm and the customers for their kindness and generosity.”
