The team from Adur East Lions Club is led by David Sluys, the new childhood cancer project co-ordinator for the Lions’ south east district.

He said: “This is the first of many events that are planned during the next 12 to 18 months. Obviously, we have been hoping to get back to fundraising, as so many of our events have been cancelled.

“Cancer charities are desperately short of funds at this time and I am working with organisations to plan fundraising events.”

The bucket collection at Shoreham Artisans Market, in East Street, Shoreham, will be on Saturday, September 26, from 9am to 2pm and this will be in aid of the charity Brain Tumour Research.

David added: “I am planning a number of golf charity days, also for Brain Tumour Research. The first confirmed event is at Worthing Golf Club on May 27, 2021.

“I previously raised money for the Lions International Blood Research Appeal (LIBRA). In September 2021, we are planning a fun run, with the proceeds being donated to LIBRA.”
