Police issue warning over traffic gridlock around Shoreham McDonald's reopening

Adur and Worthing Police has issued a warning to fast food lovers clamouring to get to the newly reopened McDonald's in Shoreham.

In a post on Facebook, the force said traffic was 'incredibly busy' around the Eastern Road drive-thru today.

The post said: "We know people are really looking forward to getting their hands on their favourite burgers but please consider if you really need to go today, it will be open every day! McDonald's management have agreed that if the traffic becomes unmanageable the restaurant will have to close."

Traffic reports show heavy congestion backed up along Eastern Avenue in both directions, along Ham Road and Western Road.

The Shoreham branch was one of 1,000s to have reopened across the country over the last couple of days, with a limited menu.
