The Crab Shack in Marine Parade featured on a list by Far & Wide, a US-based travel website, alongside locations including Puerto Vallarta in Mexico, Bora Bora in French Polynesia and Florida’s Key West.

It recommended the venue as the best bar in Sussex from which to watch the sun go down – claiming: “The Crab Shack in Worthing has a beautiful outdoor terrace that spills directly out onto the beach.

“It’s the perfect place to sip a pint or a glass of wine, while simultaneously drinking in the views.”

Owner Sarah Tinker-Taylor said they were ‘really excited’ to be featured in the list: “Not only for us, I think it’s great for the town as a whole to be mentioned in such an international forum.

“It’s brilliant.

“Hopefully now with the news that we can open up again, we are going to have a great summer.

“Obviously we won’t be getting that many international tourists, but I think so many more people are going to be coming to the coast for staycations.”

She said the restaurant had a ‘fantastic view’.

“We are really lucky with our spot, we don’t have a road infront of us. It is absolutely a fantastic view,” she said.

The Crab Shack is currently open on weekends for takeaways, but Sarah said they were excited to welcome back guests to the outside seating area from April 12.

“We are really looking forward to it,” she said. “It will be great to be actually serving people again and giving them the whole package – we pride ourselves on our good, friendly service.”

“Hopefully this will encourage people to come and experience the sunsets, and all the businesses and experiences the town has to offer.”

The website lauded the Sussex coastline for its ‘spectacular view out to sea, particularly at sunset when the sun’s rays swirl into pinks and oranges’.

It recommends the cliffs between Seaford and Beachy Head as the best ‘nature spot’ for coastal views at sunset; Billy’s on the Beach in Bracklesham Bay as the ‘best restaurant’ and the Crab Shack in Worthing as the ‘best beach bar’.
