Nick and Nina Hempleman confirmed this week that they have accepted an offer to sell the greengrocer in High Street.

Nick said: “We have absolutely loved trading in the High Street but with lockdown coming to an end and an opportunity to focus on our new events business, we think it is the right time to hand the keys over to a new owner.”

He added that the new owners are an independent, family-owned business whose values closely mirror his and Nina’s – supporting local producers, looking after their staff, being part of the community.

He went on: “We will close our doors on Saturday, April 24, and the new owners will begin a refit of the store looking to open in early June. They will offer an online shopping service during this period.

“We would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for their support since we launched in 2007.”

Nick said there were currently lots of offers in store with stock that must go.

Customers can also redeem any unused points on their regulars’ loyalty card.

The new owners will offer home delivery while the store is closed, Nick added.

And the new store to open in June will feature more local suppliers, a bigger COOK range and unpackaged/refill bulk goods.
