Head teacher Simon Liley said: “As we are currently an online school community, it is important to keep our sense of collective purpose.

“Our students are very community focused and want to support other local people, and in these times of stress we hope to bring some light to other people’s days, especially our key workers to whom we are extremely grateful.”

Jessica, year seven: Thank you to all NHS Staff for risking your life to help people with COVID-19 and all the long hours you’re working. Thank you to all shop and supermarket staff for restocking the shelves so we can all eat and for keeping our community spirits up.

Finlay, year eight: Thank you for everything you have done in these tough times, you have always been there, and it must be be horrible to not see your family, instead you are dedicating your time to us, and keeping us going. Thank you to the postmen and women for still delivering the parcels, thank you to the people behind the till at the shop so we can buy key things, thank you especially to the NHS for working full night shifts, and the amount of vulnerability they are giving to see the patients tested positive, is amazing. Thank you to the teachers, who will not be able to have their Easter holidays, instead they are teaching key worker children, giving them the best opportunity for the later life. So thank you to all of them.

Finn, year eight: I would like to say thank you to all the people who are helping keeping us safe and slowing the spread of COVID-19! I would like to say thank you to all the people working overtime to ensure our safety. Make sure you try and stay 2 metres apart at all times and keep washing your hands. Because like Tesco, every little helps.

Gabriella, year eight: You are amazing. You are the glue keeping the nation together. Keep going and stay strong.

Mason, year 11: Thank you guys so much, I am so grateful for the things you do day in and day out. If it weren’t for you, I would probably not be here today due to my brain tumour. Again I am just so thankful for all the lives you save. THANK YOU.

Erin, year nine: During these difficult times some people have sadly forgotten how to act towards our key workers who unlike some are still having to work on a daily basis to keep open our shops, hospitals, transportation. I would like to thank all of our transport drivers for still coming out to take people to work and so on. I would like to thank the shop workers and care workers for everything they do for us! And especially the NHS staff for doing so well and working so incredibly hard, we take a lot of things for granted in our lives and we also don’t always appreciate the incredibly hard amounts of work and effort put into these jobs. Thank you providing us with care and saving lives and for helping those who need it! Not all heroes wear capes!

Aaron, year seven: Thank you to all our key workers, especially my mum who is still going to work and making sure that children in schools are all being fed. Stay safe.
