Oscar-winner visits Worthing school

The man who won the best visual effects Oscar for his work on the film Ex Machina, gave Worthing High School students a motivational talk.

Paul Norris, who has a son in year nine at the South Farm Road school, spoke about how he got started, the projects he has worked on, a top secret project he is currently working on, and wining the Oscar.

Teacher Paul Gill said: “What an amazing experience for these students to meet someone who can inspire and motivate them in the final year of their studies at Worthing High.

“Paul has achieved success through hard work, patience and a healthy attitude to keep going when things get tough.”

Year 11 student Lewis Chapman said: When I think about careers and what I would like to do in the future I usually think about doctors, engineers, teachers etc., but listening to Paul, there are so many different types of jobs that I’ve never heard of.”
