School's charity of the year receives more than £2,000

A sponsored run more than doubled the amount raised by Lyndhurst Infant School for its charity of the year.

Pupils and staff at the Worthing school have been raising money for Queen Alexandra Hospital Home for disabled ex-servicemen and women over the last year.Wendy Coombes, higher level teaching assistant, said: "They did a sponsored run, which raised £1,132.45, taking the total money raised for the year to £2,070.81."Samantha Stokes from Queen Alexandra Hospital Home came to a presentation assembly, where she accepted their second cheque of the year for £1,570.81.”
