Spain records slight fall in deaths

Spain has recorded a marginal fall in the number of deaths recorded after a string of record death tolls. 

The number of people with coronavirus who died between Sunday and Monday was 812, slightly down from 832 from Friday to Saturday and 838 from Saturday to Sunday. 

One in four doctors off sick or in self-isolation

Professor Andrew Goddard, president of the Royal College of Physicians has said that as many as 25% of doctors are off sick at the moment. 

He said: "at the moment, we think it’s more doctors self-isolating with family members, though there are some off sick themselves.

"This is really impacting a lot in emergency departments and London is in a much worse position than elsewhere at the moment, but it will come to other places."

Prince Charles exits self-isolation

Prince Charles is out of self-isolation after testing positive for Covid-19 last Monday. 

In accordance with government guidance the royal's self-isolation lasted seven days.

The aralympics will get underway on 24 August and end on 5 September 2021

Number of English deaths rises by 158

The number of people who have died in England after contracting coronavirus is now 1,284, a rise of 159, NHS England said.

The patients were aged between 32 and 98 years old and all but four, aged between 56 and 87 years old, had underlying health conditions

Eton College offer resources to state schools

Eton College have offered free self-study courses to UK teenagers during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The world-famous private school said its headmaster, Simon Henderson, had written to the heads of state secondary schools offering access to its online learning platform, EtonX.
