New figures show the tragic number of coronavirus deaths that have taken place across different areas in Worthing.

Worthing saw a total of 71 coronavirus deaths in the three months between March 1 and May 31, according to the new figures from the Office for National Statistics.

The break-down by ward is as follows:

– Heene ward, 21

– Goring-by-Sea, 12

– High Salvington and Findon Valley, 9

– West Worthing, 4

– Worthing Central, 4

– Broadwater East, 3

– Broadwater West, 3

– Broadwater South, 3

– Durrington North, 3

– Durrington South, 3

– Salvington, 3

– Northbrook, 2

– East Worthing, 1

In Goring-by-Sea, deaths by coronavirus accounted for the highest percentage of all deaths during this time period (32 per cent of all deaths).

Meanwhile in East Worthing, they account for just four per cent of all deaths.
