Shoreham care home carries out first Covid-19 vaccinations

Staff and residents at a Shoreham care home have received their first doses of the coronavirus vaccine.

Kingsland House, in Kingsland Close, received vaccinations administered by Harbour’s View doctors’ surgery recently.

The home’s general manager, Karen Williams, said: “We’ve had a year like no other and the vaccine feels like the light at the end of the tunnel.

“Our residents have been magnificent in how they have risen to every challenge during this pandemic and we are proud to play our part in this next phase to ensure the most vulnerable are protected.”

One of the home’s residents, Kitty, said she was pleased to have been given the vaccine and hoped it was the first step to getting things back to normal and having a buzz of visitors in the home once again.

Kingsland House is still accepting new residents into the home, supported by clear protocols including a transition period to make sure the home stays Covid-free.
