UPDATE: Worthing hospital power cut

WORTHING Hospital has said patients who had scheduled appointments for this afternoon (Friday, November 11) may now attend.

The mains power to the east wing, which was hit by a major power cut last night (Thursday, November 10), is now being gradually turned back on.

However, Worthing Hospital has asked their patients for routine appointments and outpatient clinics to please be patient, as there may still be disruption from the morning.

It will be several hours before all services are able to restart and get back to normal.

Western Sussex Hospital Trust will be contacting anybody affected by the power cut to rearrange appointments, and extends its thanks to everyone for their patience and support.

Jeannie Baumman, director of clinical services, said: “We will be happy to see people for their appointments this afternoon, and we will do our best to ensure that services run as normally as possible. There may well be some ongoing inconvenience in the coming hours but I hope that people will understand that all of our staff are doing their best to give them the best care they can.”
