Sunday July 29, 10am: Meet at Lavington Common car park, 1 mile west of A285 Duncton-Petworth (SU949187). Common Old Serpents. A mid-summer walk around the commons of Graffham, featuring part of the Serpent Trail and a delightful stroll along a hidden woodland stream. Gentle gradients throughout. Dogs welcome on a lead. Thursday July 26, 10am: Meet at the West Chiltington Village Hall car park, Mill Road (RH20 2PZ, TQ083179). Various 4 to 5 mile circular walks, some stiles and moderate slopes, incorporating windmills, vineyards, llamas and good views of the South Downs. No dogs. 2 hours. Leader Sue 01403 255710.

Saturday July 28, 9am: Meet at Reception/Café, Sumners Ponds. Park close to the main entrance opposite the barn (TQ 124267, RH13 0PR). (From Horsham, via Plumtree Cross Lane, go through Barns Green village, soon after passing the Queens Head on Chapel Road turn right, signposted Sumners Ponds, Fishery and Campsite.) Something Fishy at Sumners Ponds a lovely 4½ mile mostly flat (some stiles) walk around a working farm, through beautiful woodland and peaceful meadows. No dogs. 2 hours. Sunday July 29, 10am: Meet at Kithurst Hill car park (off the Amberley to Storrington road, TQ 070125). Lee Farm, 5¼ mile circular walk into the heart of the rolling downs besides Welpham Down before passing Lee Farm (allegedly visited by King Charles II). Dogs allowed on a lead. 2 hours. Tuesday July 31, 10am: Meet at the Half Moon car park, Warninglid (TQ 250260). Warninglid – Crabtree Wealden Iron Industry Lakes, 5½ mile circular walk, through woods and farmland, past lakes and furnace ponds. No stiles but a few, short, fairly steep hills. Good views.
