Cassandra Mullen and three friends walked from Littlehampton to Brighton Pier in memory of her father, Joe Mullen, who died in January, and her cousin, Charlotte Mullen, who died in May.

They chose July 18 for the walk, as it would have been Joe’s 57th birthday, and have so far raised £245 for Olly’s Future.

“In January 2020, I lost my dad, Joe Mullen, a perfect daddy, grandaddy, brother and uncle, to suicide. He was in Philippines but spent most of his life in Worthing.

“In May 2020, I lost my cousin Charlotte Mullen, a beautiful mother, daughter, sister and cousin, to suicide on the Isle of Wight.

“Mental health patients are forgotten sometimes, neglected due to lack of funds. I and a few of my very good friends are raising funds for two suicide mental health charities, one in Worthing and one in the Isle of Wight.”
