How Worthing and Littlehampton helped BBC Children in Need in 2010

Ten years ago, schools, groups and companies in Worthing and Littlehampton found some interesting ways to raise money for Children in Need. Durrington High School had a circus skills event where citizenship teacher Richard Thompson balanced a bench on his chin in front of hundreds of students. Children and staff at Goring Pre-School dressed up and iced cakes and biscuits, with one member of staff making Pudsey sandwiches.

At Littlehampton College, the sixth-form at The Littlehampton Academy, the emphasis was on fashion, with students paying for the privilege of dressing up. Scuba-diving gear, Harry Potter costumes and pyjamas were some of the outfit choices. For the second year running, student Matt Pollard organised the academy’s fund-raising for Children in Need and spent three hours going round the Academy, selling stickers and collecting £78.
