Worthing pupils took a walk on the wild side ten years ago

Children at a Worthing school were given a taste of the wild side when they dressed as animals and explorers for an Africa day in November 2010. Year-three pupils at Thomas A’Becket First School, in Pelham Road, made masks and sculptures and tasted a variety of Fairtrade chocolates as part of the day’s activities ten years ago.

The children also turned their hands to drawing animals and sculptures, had their faces painted as African animals and were given percussion lessons on African drums. The event, which tied in with the Walk on the Wild Side project, was an opportunity to learn about African culture and understand how Fairtrade helps African communities.
