Carl has connections to Sussex and will be known by many of the county’s children. His Go Go Go band has performed at theatres across the county and he has more than once brought his popular workshops to students at RAPA, the Academy of Performing Arts which is based at Ratton School in Eastbourne. Carl’s wife Catherine, formerly Catherine Anderson, was an active member of Rattonians and EODS before heading off to drama school herself.

Mr Move It, has become popular with schools, who have included his routines into their daily learning schedule.

Carl says his workouts are easier than Joe Wicks.

He said: “Live professional gigs are all on hold, of course, so we performers have to improvise - and we all still need to keep active.

“I decided to use the time positively, to create a Mr Motivator-style character for children. I’ve used the fun and entertainment values needed to keep your typical five-year-old’s attention, and the knowledge acquired as a personal trainer, to deliver an effective workout at the same time.

“There is no particular age limit, though - we’re getting great feedback from parents joining in too.

“With lots of visualisation and age-appropriate images, we get the kids stretching to pick the apples off a tree, or hopping to chase the kitten.

“It’s amazing what you can do - my chief furniture-mover Catherine turns our living room into a forest, a tunnel or a spaceship.”

Carl’s YouTube channel is entirely free to access - just search Mr Move It or see the link below. You can play back his sessions at your own pace or join him for a live session this Sunday at 9am on Facebook Live. Visit Carl’s You Tube link or on Facebook
