Lockdown has been a strange time for everyone and everyday life for the students is very different at the moment.

Staff and students cannot get together in person but the school has brought Bob on board to keep them in touch and enable them to share what they have been up to.

Bob is a virtual persona, full name Best Of Bohunt, introduced as a means to stay connected as a school community.

Bob said: “We’ve not met before and we’ve also never been in a situation like this. My goal is to keep us all connected during this time and to showcase what makes us so special, showcasing the very best of Bohunt.”

Each week, students, parents and teachers have been sharing all the amazing things they have been up to during home learning in a weekly newsletter, Weekly Bobs.

Adam Whitehead, head teacher, said: “Despite these uncertain times, we are working harder than ever to stay connected. Best of Bohunt has been a positive platform for our staff, students and parents to share the everyday moments we have missed during lockdown.

“It has been overwhelming to see the rich variety of creative responses, sent to Bob each day. This is what makes our school so special and unique.”

Over the past six weeks, items have included volcano cakes, acrobatic cats, tik-tok fandom, new hobbies, staff singing, jewellery making and a whole lot of pets and DIY.

Bob has shared outstanding home learning, some tasty home baking recipes and even interviews with staff and students.

It has also provided a great way for the school to connect with its future year seven students, who would have taken part in transition visit to their secondary school this summer but are now unable to due to the current circumstances, and Bob has received some great submissions from year six students who are joining Bohunt in September.
