See how The Angmering School has been transformed in lockdown

The Angmering School has had an artistic and inspirational transformation during lockdown, thanks to a crack team of muralists and painting volunteers. Students returning to school today for the first time since March can expect some exciting changes. Chloe Parkes, DT and art technician, has designed murals which portray inspirational messages, to motivate the students as they move around the school. With large bold letters and 3D paint effects, the corridors have been brought to life and staff say they are looking fantastic.

Head of art Sam Hobbs said: “This has been such an uplifting project to work on whilst the school has been closed to most students. Chloe’s designs are modern and dynamic and they have transformed our corridors. The mural team are all art specialists and I am so proud of what we have achieved.

Further artistic transformations took place outside, with many of the school staff and parents giving up their time to pick up a paint brush and get creative. Staff said they wanted to put a smile on the face of anyone visiting the school, knowing there was likely to be a backdrop of anxiety and uncertainty surrounding September’s return. Volunteers of all ages worked together to transform tired and drab communal areas, using vibrant patterns and colours as a bold, artistic expression of hope and adventure.
