Fastest broadband speeds in the UK available to Adur and Worthing residents with Zen
More than 9,000 households in Adur and Worthing became the first in the UK to benefit from Zen Internet’s gigabit-speed home broadband earlier this year. The seriously fast broadband service (Full Fibre 900 Plus) is capable of downloading HD movies in 38 seconds.
The newly launched service, delivered by Zen over the CityFibre open access network, costs £40 per month with free activation (usually £29.99) as a special launch offer.
Full fibre broadband, the fastest broadband service available to any home in the UK, will transform the lives of many with 900Mbps of bandwidth when both downloading and uploading. This unique service has the capability to unlock the full potential of every smart device in the home providing a solid platform for fully enabling smart home applications and Internet of Things (IoT) devices of the future.
Today, it provides a reliable connection for online activities from gaming and streaming to home working, home schooling and keeping entertained.
A recent survey by Zen showed that 86 per cent of residents in Worthing have spent time on video calls with loved ones since the first lockdown in March 2020, demonstrating that a reliable broadband service is vital, and 26 per cent of residents in Worthing are ready to ‘move on’ to a different internet provider due to having a poor internet connection.
Paul Brewer, director for digital, sustainability and resources at Adur & Worthing Council, said: “This will be a positive boost for our region’s digital capabilities. The internet is now more important than ever – in an age of large-scale home working it has become vital for livelihoods. A reliable and fast broadband connection helps drive business and economic growth and we welcome the rollout of these gigabit speeds across our region.”
