Numerous photographs were taken of the 1911 floods, including the one to the right of a motor vehicle passing a horse and cart with St Mary’s House and Bramber Castle in the background.
December 1924 and January 1925 again saw severe flooding in Bramber.
This time photographers featured the delivery of provisions to flooded houses.
One photo shows a basket of provisions being delivered by Frank Lucas (wearing a cap) and Harry Adams (wearing a hat) to Mr Bacon at his upper window
Another shows a loaf of bread being delivered by horse and cart
So far, this year’s floods have not been as severe as those of January 2000 when water covered the fields to the north of the village, reaching the car park and properties on the north side of the road, but sparing the south side.
