Best bluebell walks in Sussex

Sussex is awash with a sea of colour as bluebells spring into full bloom throughout both counties.

Their deep violet-blue and distinctive bell-shaped flower make native bluebells one of our best known plants and Sussex is filled with a number of fantastic walks in which to enjoy them and other flowers including stunning white wood anemones.

Arlington bluebell walk and farm trail, Bates Green Farm, Tye Hill Road, Arlington, Polegate, East Sussex, BN26 6SH - Many thousands of people visit the Bluebell Walk every year, supporting Sussex charities, who benefit from the entrance fee (prebooking required). Brede High Woods, Battle, East Sussex, TN31 6EX - This ancient and secondary woodland and open heathland combine at this spot in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and you can combine bluebell spotting with waterside views. Collington Wood, Westcourt Drive, Bexhill, East Sussex, TN39 3NA - A delightful small woodland popular with dog walkers. In the spring it is carpeted with white anemones. Ebernoe Common, Near Petworth, West Sussex, GU35 9LD - This varied ancient wooded area, now a Sussex Wildlife Trust nature reserve, incorporates ponds, streams, meadows and reclaimed arable land boasting a variety of sites including spectacular bluebells. Slindon Estate, just off the A27 at Slindon near Arundel, West Sussex, BN18 0RG - Slindon Estate, looked after by the National Trust, is 3,500 acres of Sussex woodland, farmland, downland and pretty village all divided by paths, hedges, lanes and tracks.
