It also found a difference of 12 per cent in houses near Cissbury Ring, Worthing. Whereas in some parts of Sussex living near a landmark saw house prices decrease.

Houses near Arundel Castle and Goodwood were at -8 per cent less than the wider area. And Ouse Valley Viaduct saw house prices differ by 18 per cent.

And Chichester Cathedral saw a difference on 14 per cent, but those living near English Martyrs Catholic Church in Worthing had no difference in price.

This is how they did the study: to find property prices immediately surrounding UK landmarks, the postcode for each landmark was inserted into Zoopla and filtered to within a three miles radius. Property prices listed were then totalled and averaged.

The average property prices in the wider city/town/area were obtained through Zoopla’s house prices and values section, then subtracted from the above average values per landmark to calculate the overall increase or decrease.

Property values were extracted on 25/09/2020 and are accurate as of then.
