Morrisons is extending its NHS staff discount indefinitely - here’s how to claim it

Morrisons has indefinitely extended its discount of 10 per cent for NHS workers, after originally introducing it in April to say thank you for their hard work during the pandemic.

As the pandemic continues, the chain supermarket has decided to continue offering its discount “to thank hard working NHS staff as they continue to battle against the coronavirus during the winter months.”

The supermarket said, “With hospitals again dealing with an increased number of coronavirus cases, NHS staff are supporting the country through the next stage of the pandemic. Morrisons is therefore to extend the discount.”

How to claim the NHS discount

The 10 per cent discount is available to NHS workers both in-store and online.

In order to receive the discount in-store, all staff need to do is present their NHS ID card when at the till.

Those wanting to use the discount on an online shop will need to sign up for the Morrisons NHS Club in order to receive the discount. You can register for this on the Morrisons website.

Morrisons also currently offer an NHS hour at the beginning of every day from 6am to 7am. On Sundays, the majority of stores open at 9am for NHS workers to shop.

David Potts, Morrisons Chief Executive said, “We want to continue to support all those in the National Health Service and show our appreciation for the fearless work they undertake daily. We hope alongside our other measures, shopping can be a little bit easier for our vital NHS staff.”
