This two-bar pub has a strong emphasis on local ales. The larger public bar to the rear features regular live music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evening. Outside is an attractive walled garden with a heated and covered smoking area.

This pub was thoroughly refurbished in 2015 and now feels much lighter, brighter and more spacious, while retaining the lovely old doors and stained-glass Kemp Town Brewery windows. A house beer is served alongside up to four other ales, and an extensive range of more than 50 gins.
The pub reopened in late 2015 under new ownership, with a new name, and'quickly took off. There is an emphasis on local suppliers for both food and drink. The large beer garden is popular all year round.
