A ‘new’ car for Worthing mayor

WORTHING’S mayor is to get a “new” car – a 38,000-mile, six-year-old Skoda.

After the previous mayoral car (also a Skoda Superb) was judged a write-off after an accident a few weeks ago, the borough council set about choosing a replacement vehicle.

And it was council leader Paul Yallop who spotted a 2006 model Skoda Superb TDi Elegance (black) on the forecourt of West Sussex Motors in Palatine Road, and it was bought for £6,695.

It is about six months newer than the old car, with a slightly higher specification.

Most of the funding is coming from the insurance settlement, with a slight top-up also from the insurance settlement.
