According to Highways England, a personal injury collision study into the road network at Adur suggested the entry and exit slip roads would be safer if all the slip roads were converted from the current two lanes into one, wider lane.

Work will start to realign them on Monday, March 7. It will take place overnight, between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday only and is scheduled to be completed by Friday, April 8.

During the work, the exit and entry slip roads will be closed in both directions, with the main carriageway of the A27 remaining unaffected.

Road users wishing to use the westbound entry slip road and eastbound exit slip road will be diverted via the Holmbush Interchange.

Those wishing to use the westbound exit slip road and eastbound entry slip road will be diverted via the Manor roundabout in Lancing.

A spokesman for Highways England said: “By carrying out this work at night, we aim to cause the least disturbance to the road users of Sussex.”
