Adur Special Needs Project prepares for relaunch

The charity, which has helped change the lives of children and young people with special needs across Shoreham, Lancing and Worthing, is relaunching in September.

The re-branding of its image after more than 20 years working with youngsters aged five to 18 comes with a pending change of venue, where all the activities can be housed under one roof.

Acting chairman Jackie Remfry said: “We are very excited to be on the brink of a bigger and better future. We will be able to offer our members a wider diversity of activities, tailored to their own specific needs when we are in our new premises in Lancing, which has been newly-refurbished by West Sussex County Council.

“We are extremely keen to recruit new trustees for our important work. We are targeting local, visionary business men and women who have a heart for disabled youngsters and whose experience and skills can be harnessed to grow and expand our service.”

While the youngsters enjoy fun, stimulating and challenging activities in a safe and caring environment, their families benefit from valuable respite.

The charity is looking for people with a legal, financial or social care/nursing background who are keen to get involved with organising events and fundraising and will into to offer a few hours each month.

A supervisor is also needed, qualified to a minimum of level three in child care and with managerial skills, to run the weekend play scheme activities.

The charity is also looking for a minibus driver to transport members to and from the sessions.
