FAMILIES across the area can get advice and help about special needs thanks to a new guide which has been put together.
The Parent and Family Care Foundation has published an online guide covering issues such as understanding and coping with diagnosis, benefits and money management, special educational needs, health and social care and social and leisure activities.
It also includes a directory of more than 400 organisations both in this area and across the country, as well as a jargon-buster.
The charity’s project manager Brian O’Hagan said: “We want to make this one of the most exhaustive guides available to families anywhere in the UK so the more feedback we get now the better the eventual print version of the book will be.”
