Air ambulance lands on Worthing beach as revellers evacuated

Sussex Police has evacuated the beach to the west of the pier while emergency services treat somebody on the ground.

Pictures show abandoned sunbathing spots abandoned on the beach, including a pram left behind, while the emergency services work.

Emergency services have been contacted for more information.

The beach was expected to be busy today, as revellers flock to the seaside to enjoy the heat wave, leading to traffic congestion through Shoreham.
