Air Scouts present cheque to diabetes research foundation

6th Worthing Air Scouts chose Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) as its charity in 2016, raising money and learning about this condition.

The scouts were delighted to recently present a cheque for £ 210 to volunteers Pippa Couch and Trevor Wilson at their weekly meeting. For more information about Type 1 diabetes, visit There are currently 400,000 people in the UK with type 1 diabetes. An insulin pump can cost £3,000 to buy and £2,000 a year to use. JDRF funds research that will cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications. It focuses on investing in research that will transform the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes – improving treatments today until we find the cure.
