The scouts were delighted to recently present a cheque for £ 210 to volunteers Pippa Couch and Trevor Wilson at their weekly meeting. For more information about Type 1 diabetes, visit JDRF.org.uk. There are currently 400,000 people in the UK with type 1 diabetes. An insulin pump can cost £3,000 to buy and £2,000 a year to use. JDRF funds research that will cure, treat and prevent type 1 diabetes and its complications. It focuses on investing in research that will transform the lives of people with Type 1 diabetes – improving treatments today until we find the cure.
