All aboard as park's new miniature train launched

The final touches have been put to the three-quarter mile line around the open space ready for its opening. A new steam outline diesel-powered locomotive is being delivered today.

Trains will start running along the new 12.25in tracks at 10.30am on Saturday and will continue during all next week's half-term holiday.

The timetable will see the trains operating every weekend until the end of September and weekdays during school holidays. Operator CTS Rail Services has been selected by the district council to run the service for the next 15 years.
