All Saint's Christian Coffee Morning

SIDLEYS All Saint's church held a Christian coffee morning to raise funds for Christian Aid Week.

Along with a range of stalls selling a variety of items including bric a brac, books, CD's, handmade cards, a raffle and tombola, delicious home-made cakes and fruit pies proved popular and were quick to sell out.

Refreshments of teas, coffees scones and fairy cakes were also available.

Overseeing the proceedings was Ordinand Michael Turnball. Michael, who is also a part of All Saint's church warden team. Michael said the Christian Aid Week supports projects working with the worlds poorest communities:

"The money raised from the Christian coffee morning will be donated to Christian Aid which supports projects in the third world, and in particular children's projects, helping to rebuild families lives."

225 was raised from the event which Michael said he was, "quite pleased with", adding "it was a good result."
