Ambulance overturned in Worthing

AN AMBULANCE which overturned on its way to an emergency caused mayhem yesterday evening (Wednesday, April 28).

The accident happened by the roundabout near Durrington High School in Littlehampton Road.

Worthing fire fighters were called to the scene at 7.20pm and the road was closed for a couple of hours with road diversions in place.

No patients were in the ambulance at the time and the two paramedics managed to escape uninjured.

Another ambulance was sent to the original emergency but the patient there did not require any treatment.

The accident has been left with police for investigation.
