Armed man burgles Worthing house

Police are investigating an aggravated burglary where a man armed with a knife barged his way into a house in Salvington Road, Worthing.

This happened around 11.45pm on Friday 20 September. There was a knock at the door and the lodger who lives at the house opened it and the suspect pushed his way past him and walked in.

He had with him a large kitchen knife held by his side.

He searched around the house and stole various items including cash, a mobile phone, a pair of nine carat gold earrings and a silver metal strapped Emporio Armani watch.

The suspect has been described as black, 5’ to 5 3’, boyish looking, aged about 20, of slim build, and wearing a multi-coloured tight fitted beanie hat.

Detective Constable Andy Hobden said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victims, no one has the right to steal from someone else, let alone barge their way into their house.”
