Arson attacks in Lancing

A SPATE of fires in Lancing last night (Wednesday, November 23) resulted in residents needing to be evacuated.

Firefighters from Worthing and Lancing were called to Shadwells Court, in Shadwells Road, just after 11pm after one car and three wheelie bins were set alight.

The fire then started encroaching on homes resulting in residents from Shadwells Court being led to safety.

The crews had to use compressed air foam to put out the car fire.

The fires are being treated as suspicious and the police are investigating.

Worthing firefighters were also called to McKerchar Close, Lancing, at 10.27pm, after a car caught fire.
