Art club exhibition at leisure centre

Members of the Phoenix Art Club have put their work on display in the foyer of the sports centre where they hold their weekly meetings on Friday afternoons.

The display will run from 11am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays, and from 1pm to 3pm on Fridays.

The club holds drawing and watercolour classes for artists of all abilities and is welcoming new members from September.

The Phoenix Club also offers sports including badminton, tennis, table tennis and short mat bowls, as well as other activities such as dancing, tai-chi, drama and crafts.

Jeanie Dickenson, club co-ordinator, said: “We have been very lucky to have a lot of people coming in from the Art Trail as well as those coming in to use the leisure centre.

“They have all stopped to have a look, and are all amazed by the quality of work from our art classes and our painters club.”
