Film Club is February 8, showing ‘Days of Heaven’. Doors open at 7.45pm and the programme will start at 8.15pm. Ashburnham Village Hall is holding a fundraising event on February 9, 7pm for 7.30pm start. This will also see the launch of Laurence Keeley’s new book and include an illustrated talk by Ian Everest “A Sussex Farm During the 1950s”. There will be an opportunity for you to share your own reflections on Ashburnham Past. Entrance Tickets £5 – Light refreshments provided (Proceeds to speaker and Village Hall). Ashburnham & Penhurst WI are meeting on Monday February 18 in the Village Hall at 7.30pm when John Cormode will be speaking about Grassroots – an organisation that teaches suicide alertness and intervention skills. Their competition this month is ‘A WI Limerick’ – so come on, all you budding poets!

The Ashburnham & Penhurst Book Club’s February gathering will be at 2pm on Friday February 22. If you would like to read this months book or would like further information on the group, please call Nicky on 01424 892474.
