BBC Sussex started a week-long bus tour of the county on Monday with the first stop being Worthing.

The team parked their bus on the recently revamped Montague Place and were keen to find out what makes the town tick and what is going on in the community.

Presenter Danny Pike was live from 9am and Allison Ferns took over from midday.

Allison attracted many people by presenting on the roof of the bus and said it was ‘fantastic to be in Worthing’.

She added: “It is great to get out of the studio and meet the people who listen to us and who are proud of Worthing.

“It is a time to shout out and celebrate your town and get publicity – as well as tell us your stories.”

Worthing town crier Bob Smytherman said the bus tour shows what the newly developed Montague Place can be used for.

The two-week bus tour is to celebrate towns across Sussex and Surrey and to celebrate the people who love them.

The Sussex tour will finish with BBC presenters Danny Pike and Joe Talbot in Chichester tomorrow.
