Beryl’s charity lunch events top £20k mark

A WOMAN from Worthing has hosted a series of lunches to raise money for St Barnabas House hospice.

This is the sixth year that Beryl has hosted the lunches, which have raised well over £20,000 in total for St Barnabas House.

Guests were treated to delicious two course lunches with a choice of hot and cold options.

Beryl donated and prepared all the food, and was assisted by volunteers each day to ensure that the lunches, raffle, auction and other fundraising activities went smoothly.

Beryl said: “This is my sixth year of hosting lunches and it was the best ever year, which is amazing.

“Thank you to all of my team who helped make all the lunches such a success.”

Neil Francis, community fundraising manager at St Barnabas House, said: “Each year we are always amazed by what Beryl does, but this record breaking year was really special.

“Beryl has raised enough this year to pay for 8.5 hours of all care services provided by St Barnabas House.

“We are only able to provide our care services to people who need it the most, thanks to support from our community and in particular fundraising events like Beryl’s lunches.”
