‘Best results in five years’

THERE were happy scenes at Robertsbridge Community College, which secured yet another rise in GCSE results, helping the college to its best results in five years.

62 percent of pupils achieved a total of five A*-C grades, including English and maths - up four percent on last year.

There were many fantastic individual performances with a total of 14 percent of students achieving five or more A*/A grades individually.

The core subjects of maths, English and science all performed well, with further strong performances in languages, technology, drama, BTEC PE, art, dance and RE.

The headteacher of Robertsbridge Community College, Simon Potten, said: “I am delighted that we have continued to increase the number of students performing at the top level year on year and there are some outstanding individual successes from students of all abilities.

“Our headline figure has improved with many subjects sustaining and further improving good performances.

“This is testament to the endeavour of students and hard work and endeavour of staff at the college to maintain and improve pupil progress.

“These results show that we are continuing to maintain high standards and we are well placed to ensure continued improvement in the future.”
