School Governor: Barbara Napper has stood down as chairman of Bodiam Church of England Primary School Governing Body. The new chairman is Linda Stevens from Longacre. All the very best to Linda.

Cricket Club: The Cricket Club is away to Alfriston on August 10 with a 2pm start.

Birthday girl: Earlier this year Helen Dawson (nee Buss) celebrated her 91st birthday. Helen first came to Bodiam from the family home at Dallington as a Land Army girl. She has put herself around and began to write poetry about local interests and social observations. I felt the poem of Bodiam was her best. Helen has a folder of more poems and hopes they will be published one day.

National Trust: So now the National Trust is to do a resident’s pass for Bodiam and Ewhurst and Staplecross parish with six passes per household. The National Trust only with the residents of the parish to go around the castle six times a year for free.
